Narco Wars
2020 · National Geographic/Disney+ · Lead Series Director / Producer / Camera
Fifty years of the War on Drugs, told through eyewitness testimony and contemporary access.
As lead series director across eight episodes, I directed 39 interviews with people on every side: drug lords, DEA officers, cartel sicarios, police, military, diplomats, politicians, traffickers, killers and victims.
Alongside access to drug labs, traffickers, hitmen and arms dealers, contributors ranged from Pablo Escobar’s widow María Victoria Henao and former cartel hitman Martin Corona to DEA agents Jack Riley and Joe Toft, Ambassador William Brownfield and General Jerry Boykin.
Presidents appear in archive as the political story moves from Nixon’s declaration of the drug war through Medellín, Cali, Mexico and El Chapo.
